How to restore a WordPress website from full backup

  1. First, you should restore the files.
    • Log into your Host Control Panel . Go to File Manager.

       

      Select all the files, click Delete button.

       

    • Click Upload button and upload the .zip file that we have backed up before. Then click Extract to unzip this file, so that you will have all the files back from the full backup.

       

  2. Next, you should restore the database.
    • Go to phpMyAdmin.

       

      Choose the right database of the website, select all the tables and then drop them.

       

    • Click Import tab, Browse to import the .sql file that we had backed up before. Then click Go to start importing.

       

  3. Last of all, connect the website to the restored database.

    Type the website URL in the browser address bar. You will see the installation page appearing.

    Proceed with all the steps showing up on the screen.

    • Choose the language:

    • Fill in the fields with database name, username, password, hostname and prefix table which should be wp_

       

    • Proceed with other steps. Then click Login page and log into WordPress Admin Panel.

       

    • From Admin Panel, click Visit Site to see the site has been restored successfully.
